Privacy Policy

Lantern ("the app") is published by CATIO APPS. This policy explains what happens to your information when you use Lantern on Android or iOS. In short: Lantern does not collect, sell or share any personal data. Everything you do in the app stays on your device, unless you choose to email us.
No account, no tracking, no ads
Lantern has no sign-up and no account. It contains no advertising, no analytics and no tracking SDKs, and it does not send your data to our servers or to third parties. It does not need an internet connection to work.
Data stored on your device
To work, the app saves the following on your device only: your settings (language, Bible translation, reminder and lock times, theme), your streak and the days you prayed, your journal entries, gratitude notes and written prayers, your prayer list, your saved verses, the list of apps you chose to lock, and a small counter of finished prayers used to time the store rating request. You can delete individual journal entries and prayer-list items in the app, and uninstalling Lantern deletes all of this data.
Android: Accessibility service
On Android, Lantern uses the Accessibility service only to detect which app comes to the foreground, so it can show today's prayer before an app you chose to lock. It reads only the name of the app being opened. It does not read your screen content, what you type, your messages or passwords, and it does not collect, store or transmit this information. The service is only active if you turn it on in your phone's settings, and you can turn it off at any time.
Lantern lists your installed apps so you can choose which ones to lock. This list is used on your device only.
iOS: Screen Time
On iOS, Lantern uses Apple's Screen Time framework (Family Controls) to lock the apps you choose. Apple shows you a private picker; the app receives only opaque tokens and never learns which apps you picked. Nothing leaves your device.
Notifications
If you allow it, Lantern schedules a local daily reminder on your device. No push service or server is involved.
Read-aloud and sharing
"Listen" uses your phone's built-in text-to-speech voice. "Share" opens your phone's standard share sheet; what you share and with whom is up to you.
Feedback and ratings
If you tap "Send feedback" or "Report a problem" (or shake your phone and confirm), Lantern prepares an email in your own email app. Nothing is sent until you press send there, and Lantern itself makes no network request. Besides what you write, the email includes the app version, your phone's operating system and version, your device model and the app language, unless you switch this off in the form. A screenshot of the screen you were on is attached only if you choose it. We use these emails only to answer you and to improve Lantern, and we delete them when you ask us to.
To notice a shake, Lantern reads the motion sensor only while the app is open; this data is not stored and never leaves your device.
After you finish a prayer, Lantern may ask Apple's or Google's own rating dialog to appear. Your rating goes to the App Store or Google Play under their privacy policies; Lantern does not see it.
Children
Lantern does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Contacto: [email protected].
